Welcome Message from the Congress Chairs

It is our great pleasure to welcome you to attend the 12th WACBE World Congress on  Bioengineering, taking place in Changzhou from 28-31 July 2026.

The Congress is a biennial event organized by the World Association for Chinese Biomedical Engineers (WACBE) since its inception in 2002, and has been recognized as one of the most important academic meetings by the worldwide biomedical engineering community.

The 12th WACBE World Congress held in Changzhou will continue to uphold this legacy by offering a forum for networking and collaboration. It will also be a great tribute to late Dr. Yuan-Cheng Fung, the legendary Pioneer of Bioengineering and Father of Biomechanics, as we gather at his birthplace to celebrate “Innovation and Translation: from Biomechanics to AI for Engineering Better Health”.

The Congress will cover a wide range of biomedical engineering topics, and especially spotlight on the cutting-edge developments in the field. It will provide great opportunities for learning and engagement, with a rich program of plenary and keynote addresses by distinguished speakers, specialized symposia, oral and poster presentations of original research, round table discussions, company exhibitions showcasing the latest products, as well as student-centred activities and various social gatherings.

The Congress will also present awards including Yuan-Cheng Fung Lifetime Achievement Award, Savior L-Y. Woo Distinguished Lecture Award, Wangyi Wu Mid-Career Award, WACBE Rising Star Award, best oral/poster presentation award, and students competition award, to recognize those for what they accomplished at various career levels.

The 12th WACBE World Congress on Bioengineering promises to be a memorable event, allowing colleagues and friends around the globe to establish connections, promoting academic exchanges, and nurturing the passion in biomedical engineering for bettering human health.
